Training terms & conditions

All training bookings are subject to the following training terms & conditions. Please read these carefully before placing your order.

Trainings with multiple dates

Some of our popular training sessions will run on multiple occasions. Where this is the case, each individual session will be advertised as a separate event. You only need to attend one of these sessions and it is the learner's responsibility to ensure they book for the correct date before placing their order.

Some training sessions run over multiple dates (for example a 1st response course may take place virtually over two evenings, plus a face to face practical). Where this is the case, all the relevant dates will be listed within one event to book as one. You are committing to attend all of the dates listed and it is the learners' responsibility to check that they are available for all of these dates before placing their order.

Who can make a booking?

Bookings should only be made by those over the age of 18 years. Many trainings are available to those aged 14-17 years (please check individual events for exact details) but either a parent or leader should make a booking on their behalf.

Confirmation of booking & receipt for payment

Bookings are taken via our online booking page where the details we require for the training are requested and any payment is taken. Please ensure you complete all the details requested at this time.

An email confirming your purchase will be sent automatically by the system. The system allows us to specify the maximum number of learners in any one session so this confirmation email will act as your confirmation that you have a space on the training session.

This confirmation email also acts as your receipt of payment. Training is a valid unit expense.

Final information for your training session

We will send out a reminder email, approximately 72 hours prior to the training date (or first date where there are multiple dates for one training course). For virtual training this will include the details of how to access the session.

Cancellations and non-attendance

All bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable to alternative training dates.

Bookings may be transferred to a new learner up to 72 hours prior to the training date (or first date where there are multiple dates for one training course). You may transfer your booking by emailing [email protected] with the following details:
  • The name of the learner who is no longer attending.
  • The details of the new learner taking the space as per the original booking form, plus an email address.

It is between the original booker and the new learner to make arrangements for payment between themselves. Girlguiding Gloucestershire will not act as an intermediary in this transaction.

If you fail to attend a training session, no refund will be given.

Please respect our volunteer trainers

Please remember our trainers are all Girlguiding volunteers. If you are unable to make a training session for whatever reason and cannot transfer your booking to another learner, please email us to let us know so that our trainers are not waiting for you to get started.

Our right to cancel and applicable refund

We may have to cancel a booking before the event due to circumstances outside of our control, for example if one of our trainers is sick and a replacement can't be sourced or for technical issues.

In the event we need to cancel a training, we will endeavour to rearrange the session or to move your booking to another training opportunity. Where this is not possible, we will provide a full refund.
