First aid learning in units
1st aid is such an important skill that we believe everyone should have access to the knowledge, particularly CPR and how to use an AED as this knowledge could literally be the difference between life and death for someone. The Girlguiding programme includes a skills builder about first aid, but in addition to this, the county offers resources to be able to bring CPR to your units.
'1st Response Laerdal' manikins - trainer-led sessions
A 1st response trainer can come out with the '1st response Laerdal' manikins to deliver the session.
The session covers the safe approach, CPR and recovery position and lasts for 1.5-2 hours. We can bring the manikins and an AED along so they get the hands on experience. We also bring the relevant training resources, eg white board and pens to share the acronyms to help with the learning (DRS ABC, AVPU, etc.). The costs:

'Call Push Rescue' kits - self-led sessions
You can borrow the 'Call Push Rescue' manikins (blow-up manikin) to deliver a session with your group yourself.
They are in a bag of 10 manikins and we have 2 bags available. Each bag comes with the 10 manikins, which you would need to inflate using the clever storage/inflation bags provided. They will be set up with new lungs ready for rescue breaths and there are kneeling pads in the bag too. There is also a DVD that can be played to show learners how to do CPR or a confident leader who has 1st response training (or equivalent) can deliver the session. They don't come with face shields by default. We require that anyone taking part in rescue breathes uses a face shield during the training to prevent spread of infection. Everyone must use their own face shield. The costs:
