Thanks & recognition
Do you know someone who deserves an award? We have a range of awards in the county as listed below and detailed in full in the linked guidelines document.
The awards committee meets twice a year as a minimum to consider these awards and therefore the deadline for each round of applications is 31 March and 30 September each year. However if we receive a number of awards in between these dates we will arrange an extra meeting to consider them. The same application form is used for all county awards for nominations from our members. There is a special application form for a parent or young member who wishes to nominate a volunteer. We welcome applications from parents for the thanks award. In addition to each award criteria, all nominees should have demonstrated adherence to Girlguiding’s volunteer code of conduct. |
Awards considered bi-annually by the awards committee
County awards available all year round
County thanks award
This award is to recognise the dedication of members and non-members who freely give their time to help deliver good quality guiding in Girlguiding Gloucestershire.
It can be given to show appreciation of significant commitment supporting and/or delivering a guiding activity or project that shows the unique quality of this individual. |
County commissioner's certificate of appreciation
There are occasions when young people and adults involved in guiding in Gloucestershire merit recognition for something they have done, or bravery in the face of illness. For exceptional cases, the association award of merit may apply, but for other cases we may wish to make some recognition of a person’s achievement.
