External MHFA courses

We’re passionate about people’s mental health and the ‘1st aid’ style support that can literally be the difference between life and death, as well as the early intervention support that can prevent someone from getting to that life or death point. We’ve been delivering this to our volunteers over the last 3 years, training 60+ members.

Training for Gloucestershire charities and community organisations

We’re extending this reach within the Gloucestershire communities and are piloting a course for an external audience.

The RRP of the course is £325, but we’re offering it for £150 for those who work or volunteer for a charity or community organisation within Gloucestershire.

Our trainers, Dee & Anne, are both qualified MHFA Instructors and will be running the course as volunteers so Girlguiding Gloucestershire will benefit by raising funds to deliver a future MHFA course to its members, whilst the charities and community groups who access this course will benefit from the discounted price, hopefully making it more accessible to the smaller organisation. And, of course, those within those organisations who struggle with their mental health will hopefully then get the relevant support they need.

Who is this course for?

We are passionate about helping as many people as possible to access this training so we are pleased to be able to offer the MHFA course to those outside of Girlguiding Gloucestershire.

We also want to make it accessible to charities and community organisations that may not be able to afford the RRP of £325 per person. We are therefore offering a non-profit discounted price, as well as the standard price. Please see below to find out if you are eligible for this discount and how to access it.

Funds from delivering this course externally also help us fund our own MHFA training to our volunteers within our charity.

MHFA England

For full details on the mental health first aid course and MHFA England who licence the training visit their website.

MHFA England's aim is to train 1 in 10 people to be MHFAiders. They state "Our evidenced-based training gives people the skills to spot the signs of poor mental health, the confidence to start a conversation and the knowledge to signpost to appropriate support. Together we can make a lasting difference. To workplaces. To individuals. And to society."

Our MHFA instructors

Our MHFA instructors, Anne & Dee, are fully qualified with MHFA England to deliver this course. The instructors hold their own insurance for delivering this course to an external audience.
