We are undertaking an ambitious project! As part of the refurbishment the Deer house will receive new toilets and shower facilities as well as a new, modern kitchen.
The cost of the project will be in the region of £50,000 and so we set about raising funds towards this.
Visit our Deer Park 50 Fundraising page to find out about how we're funding the project and how you can help or take a look below at the plans and the work so far.
Work carried out so far
In order to keep the project manageable, the work schedule has been broken down into smaller phases.
Phase One: Electrics
Phase one is all about the electrics. Anyone who has stayed in the Deer House will have noticed that there was a very random array of electrical circuit boards at the bottom of the stairs, some of these being as old as 40 years. In September 2019, we contracted an electrician to come in and bring this area up to modern standards. This has involved taking out all the old fuse boxes, etc and replacing it all with three modern fuse boards. We think you'll agree that this is not just more practical and complying with the current regulations but that it's much more pleasing to the eye now as well!
